DESCRIPTION: A large leafhopper that is primarily green in colour with a mottled pronotum, vertex and scutellum and noteable pinky red eye. The ID features are the rounded and uniformly narrow vertex as seen from above, the 5 spines at the tip of the femur and the overall short and broad appearance of the insect. BEHAVIOUR: A species that inhabits the leafy areas of Oak trees and best found by shaking the boughs. Can be attracted to light. DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout the UK. HABITAT: On the leaves of Oak species. PERIOD: June to October.
